Welcome to Chichester Canoe Club!
We are busy preparing for the summer season!
The aim of the club is to provide the structure for likeminded people to paddle in a safe environment and have the opportunity to develop their skills in whatever style of paddling they prefer and progress along the BCU Star Award scheme if they wish. We have a membership that caters for of all ages and covers many of the disciplines within paddling such as:
- River running
- Playboating
- Touring
- Openboat/Canoeing
- K1/K2 racing
The summer programme is centred around meeting on Friday evenings from 5:30pm onwards at Chichester Watersports Centre at Westhampnett (open Google Maps).
Please contact us to book your introductory session which at £15 will include your session fee, use of all equipment and an hour of dedicated coaching to get you on the water safely and gives you a recognised basic competency qualification. If you are already competent and qualified we can make other arrangements for you to try the club before committing to membership where you can then join our other summer activities such as paddles on the canal and in the harbour, Paddling Fitness sessions and some white water trips.
In the winter we focus locally on pool sessions and weekend paddles on the harbour, canal or lake. We have a very active white water section of the club and run monthly weekend trips away to areas of the UK with access to adrenaline pumping rapids.
